Scheuren Announces Funding Secured for Briarwyck Park Stream Restoration
January 22, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) announced today that Lower Salford Township has been awarded a Growing Greener program grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
Growing Greener projects generally focus on restoring streams, watershed improvements or addressing water pollution from abandoned mine drainage. In this instance, the grant is going toward the Briarwyck Park Stream Restoration Project and will total $164,000.
“This is excellent news for Lower Salford Township,” said Scheuren. “Our community leaders have been hard at work to restore the stream at Briarwyck Park, and this DEP funding will help to ensure the project moves forward.”
DEP’s Growing Greener grants can be awarded to watershed groups, local or county government, municipal authorities, county planning commissions, county conservation districts, council of governments, educational institutions, or non-profit organizations. Grantees have up to three years to implement their projects.
