February 12, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) today announced multiple fire and EMS companies that serve the 147th District are set to receive grants from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC).
“I’m thrilled to announce that eleven fire and EMS companies across our 147th District have received these vital grants. Our first responders work tirelessly to keep us safe, and this funding will help with everything from updated equipment and training, to facility improvements and debt relief. This grant is an essential step forward in equipping our heroes with the tools they need to protect our communities,” said Scheuren.
All companies must first file a grant agreement with OFSC, but all that apply and meet requirements outlined by OSFC receive funding.
The organizations that received grants are as follows:
• Gilbertsville Area Community Ambulance Service – $15,000.
• Gilbertsville Fire and Rescue Co. – $16,136.
• Harleysville Emergency Medical Service – $15,000.
• Harleysville Community Fire Co. – $15,930.
• Lower Frederick Fire Co. – $28,136.

• Upper Salford Volunteer Fire Co. – $14,218.
Eligible projects for this funding include plans such as the construction or renovation of a company facility, the purchase or repair of equipment, the training of staff or the reduction of any existing debt the company may have accumulated.
