Scheuren Announces Farmland Preservation in New Hanover Township

April 15, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) announced today a 41-acre equine farm, located at 704 Kulp Road in New Hanover Township, was preserved as part of a $10.2 million investment by Pennsylvania to maintain more than 2,600 acres of farmland across the Commonwealth.

This brings the total amount of farmland safeguarded in the 147th District during Scheuren’s tenure to 393.9 acres.

“It’s another excellent day in the 147th District, as more of our beautiful farmland is now protected from future development,” said Scheuren. “From my first day in office, one of my main missions was to ensure open space and farmland were saved throughout our region, and in under four years, a combined 851.9 acres of both have been conserved.”

The funding to protect this farm comes from a $262,268 investment, with the state putting up $259,758 and the county putting up $2,510.
