Scheuren Announces $2 Million for Key Improvement Projects in the 147th Legislative District

HARRISBURG – Rep. Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) announced today $2 million has been allocated for important improvement projects within the 147th Legislative District. This funding is provided through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), which aims to bolster economic growth and enhance community resources.

“These projects reflect a shared commitment to strengthen our community with more accessible and modern spaces,” Scheuren noted. “Together, they represent meaningful investments in places that support, serve, and uplift people every day.”

The funding will support two key initiatives:

• Camp Rainbow: $500,000 will be used for renovations and essential improvements across the camp property, including multiple camper bunkhouses, the nurse's station, dining hall, activity cabins, recreation pavilions, and restroom enclosures to address accessibility, structural integrity, interior elements, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems.  

• Douglass Township Administration Building: $1 million will be used for a full interior demolition to exterior wall studs, removal of hazardous materials (asbestos floor tiles and lead paint), and replacement of all major systems, including HVAC, roofing, windows, emergency generator, ADA accessibility, and security upgrades. The project expands public meeting space and reconfigures the lobby.

• Peter Becker Community II: $500,000 will be used for a comprehensive renovation of three distinct areas within Peter Becker Community’s skilled nursing facilities: Entry and Porte Cochere, Wing J Courtyard Bistro, and Wings C/D Aster/Cherry Blossom Neighborhood.

RACP is a Commonwealth grant initiative overseen by the Office of the Budget, designed to support projects that contribute to regional economic, cultural, civic and recreational development.
