Scheuren Announces More than $1.5 Million for School Safety, Behavioral Health Improvements

HARRISBURG – Rep. Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) announced today that schools in the 147th Legislative District will be receiving money for behavioral health support for students and staff and to make learning environments safer and more secure.  

"When we invest in our schools, we are making a commitment that every student and educator be given a safe, supportive environment where they can learn, grow and succeed,” Scheuren noted. “When schools implement security enhancements and are better equipped to address behavioral needs, the entire community benefits."

The award amount for each school district is as follows:

  • Boyertown Area School District - $367,013.
  • Montgomery County IU 23 - $70,000.
  • North Montco Tech Career Center - $70,000.
  • Perkiomen Valley School District - $300,467
  • Pottsgrove School District - $228,589.
  • Souderton Area School District - $364,831.
  • Souderton CS Collaborative - $70,000.
  • Western Montgomery CTC - $70,000.

The grants were approved through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee. The committee administers programs designed to improve school safety and security, strengthen behavioral health support, and provide training and technical assistance to schools across Pennsylvania.
