September 15, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) announced today that seven projects in the 147th Legislative District will cumulatively receive over $1.7 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants.

LSA grants are funded through gaming revenues under Act 71 of 2004 and are used to support economic development, community improvement and public interest projects.

“Each project is a testament to what forward thinking leadership and dedicated public service can achieve, from strengthening local safety, enhancing public spaces and investing in things that enrich our daily lives,” Scheuren said. “These awards reflect a shared commitment to economic growth, community well being, and meaningful improvement across our townships.”

Scheuren secured and strongly advocated for Upper Salford Township to receive $350,000 towards the purchase of a tanker truck for the Upper Salford Volunteer Fire Company, and in Franconia Township, The Peter Becker Community is also slated to receive $250,000 for their courtyard and dining facilities.

Scheuren also collaborated with Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-Montgomery) to secure funding for the following additional projects:

• Douglass Township – $84,527 to purchase a new police vehicle.

• Lower Frederick Township – $318,813 for a sewer upgrade project.

• Lower Salford Township – $510,757 to create an inclusive playground at Alderfer Park.

• New Hanover Township – $141,526 for improvements to the New Hanover Fire and Rescue Station.

• Upper Pottsgrove Township – $79,990 for the purchase of a police vehicle with upfitted equipment.

“I’m proud to support projects like these that enhance recreational spaces and provide relief for our first responders,” said Pennycuick. “I look forward to continuing my work with Representative Scheuren to bring state investments back to our communities.”
