Scheuren: More Farmland Preserved in District
October 13, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) announced today another farm in the 147th Legislative District is being preserved through the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s Farmland Preservation Program.
The Musselman Farm, owned by Lisa J. Musselman, Amy L. Kolb and Jeffrey T. Moyer, is a 13-acre crop farm in Franconia Township. A total of $618,824 was invested for the preservation, with $423,614 coming from the state, $104,355 from the county and $90,855 from the township.
“Each acre preserved is a lasting investment in the state’s future, our communities and the generations who will farm these lands,” Scheuren said. “I’m proud to say that since I took office in 2023, more than 444 acres of farmland will forever be preserved in the 147th, along with 458 acres of open space.”
Through the Farmland Preservation Program, development rights are purchased from willing landowners to ensure preserved farms remain dedicated to agricultural use and are protected from future residential or commercial development.
Pennsylvania's Farmland Preservation Program has invested more than $1.83 billion in state, county, and local funds to protect more than 6,700 farms and more than 671,000 acres in 58 counties since its creation in 1988.
