HARRISBURG – Rep. Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) and Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-Montgomery/Berks) announced today that Lower Salford Township has received a $600,000 grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). This grant is for Lower Salford to begin preliminary engineering for a planned relocation of a portion of the Harleysville Pike.
“I am pleased to see Lower Salford Township receive this grant money,” said Scheuren. “This funding will allow the evaluation process of relocating a portion of the Harleysville Pike to begin, which will make the road more accessible and less congested to drivers. Moreover, the land for this potential road realignment was acquired by the township over the past 30 to 40 years, thus this grant allows the feasibility of this road transition to finally be done. I want to extend my appreciation to the local officials who worked with me in this process, and to Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-Montgomery/Berks) who helped secure this crucial funding for Lower Salford.”
“Transportation management projects like these are crucial, especially here in Southeast Pennsylvania,” said Pennycuick. “I was happy to support the Township’s efforts to improve traffic congestion at such a busy intersection. These plans will benefit both Lower Salford residents and travelers commuting through the area.”
