HARRISBURG – Rep. Donna Scheuren (R-Montgomery) today announced that Lower Salford Township was awarded two grants from PennDOT’s “Green Light-Go” program for traffic signal modernization.

Lower Salford will receive $268,220 for traffic signal modernization at the Main Street (Route 0063) and Hunsberger Lane intersection, and $442,464 for traffic signal modernization at the Main Street (Route 0063) and Maple Avenue intersection.

“This is crucial funding that will help improve traffic flow in Lower Salford Township,” said Scheuren. “These updated traffic signals will be able to respond in real time to traffic, which will help limit congestion during key travel hours.”

Green Light-Go grants are provided as reimbursement to municipalities for updates to improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals. These projects will be funded through the appropriation for the fiscal year 2024-25. Grant funding through the Green Light-Go program may be utilized for a range of operational improvements including, but not limited to light-emitting diode (LED) technology installation, traffic signal retiming, developing special event plans and monitoring traffic signals, as well as upgrading traffic signals to the latest technologies.
